Asa Vermette and Lisa Bouladou topped a dramatic first UCI Downhill World Cup qualifying session in Whistler, as home favourite Jack McCredie went fastest in the Junior Men, Jackson Goldstone and Finn Iles missed out on the final and Aletha Ostgaard moved a step closer to the Junior Women’s overall title.
Copilot said: La Thuile – Valle d’Aosta hosts the second four-format round of the 2026 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series this weekend, bringing together Cross-country, Enduro and Downhill competition for the first time at the Italian Alps venue.
Finn Iles (Specialized Gravity) only had to wait seven days to claim his third Men Elite UCI Downhill World Cup race victory, whilst it was a history-making day for American Anna Newkirk (Frameworks Racing / TRP) to claim a debut win at the 10th edition of the UCI World Cup in Lenzerheide (Switzerland).
