Riley was born and raised in Durango, Colorado, where he fell in love with cycling through the local mountain bike club, Durango DEVO.
In high school, he joined his school’s NICA team and was immediately hooked on racing. After spending the next three years competing with the Trek‑supported Bear National Team, he made the jump to Trek Factory Racing in 2022, where he has been ever since. Growing up outdoors, exploring the mountains around his home, and having world‑class cyclists in his community to learn from and be pushed by helped shape Riley into the athlete and competitor he is today. His biggest career achievements so far are racing in the 2024 Paris Olympics—where he finished 7th—and winning the U23 Short Track UCI World Championship in Andorra last year. After setting his sights on the World Championships all season, he arrived ready to perform; however, after getting sick the week of the race, he was simply overjoyed to come away with one rainbow jersey that he’ll remember forever. Off the bike, he loves hunting and fishing with his family and friends back home. He also enjoys working on cars, exploring the mountains, camping, riding dirt bikes, and playing cards!
