The Czech venue of Nové Město Na Moravě has become an iconic fixture on the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series calendar. First featured in the UCI World Cup circuit in 2011, it has been an ever-present since. In that time, it has become a staple of the European leg of the UCI Cross-country Olympic (XCO) and Short Track (XCC) World Cup amongst fans and riders alike.

For the 2025 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series, Endurance riders will take to the Czech course between May 23-25 having had a month-long break after their back-to-back Brazilian season openers, so expect the racing to be fast and furious from the off.

Location and Courses

Where is it?

The Vysočina Arena and its surrounding trails are the centrepiece of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series venue, which is located just outside Nové Město na Moravě’s town centre. A small town in the Žďár nad Sázavou District in the Vysočina Region, it is 160km southeast of the country’s capital Prague.

What’s the course like?

Fast, flowing and packed with short, steep climbs and rapid descents, Nové Město na Moravě is one of the most fun courses on the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Serie circuit. Although its rock gardens and root-filled forests can become treacherous in the wet.

Who were the most recent winners?

Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers) is undefeated in the UCI XCO World Cup, winning the last four editions. His old team-mate Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (Ineos Grenadiers) was also victorious in the Olympic distance in 2024, but has since retired from mountain biking, meaning we’ll see a new winner next time out. In the UCI XCC World Cup, 2024 overall series winners Victor Koretzky (Specialized Factory Racing) and Alessandra Keller (Thömus Maxon) secured maximum points to reinforce their advantage in the individual standings.
