What happened last time?

In the UCI Cross-country Short Track (XCC) World Cup, Puck Pieterse (Alpecin-Deceuninck) marked her return to the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series with victory after an intense sprint finish, while Mathis Azzaro (Origine Racing Division) launched a decisive late attack to take the men's win. Both races went down to the final straight, with Pieterse and Azzaro timing their moves perfectly to secure victory. Read the full article here.

The UCI Cross-country Olympic (XCO) World Cup saw Tom Pidcock continue his remarkable record at the Czech venue. The British rider returned to cross-country competition in dominant style, prevailing after a race-long battle with Luca Martin (Cannondale Factory Racing) to claim his fifth UCI XCO World Cup victory from five appearances in Nové Město. In the women's race, Laura Stigger (Specialized Factory Racing) produced a superb display of technical riding and descending to secure her third UCI XCO World Cup win. Read the full article here.

What’s the course like?

One of the long-standing venues on the XC calendar, Nové Město has built a reputation for fast, frantic racing. Both the XCC and XCO races feature technical courses that take in the area’s picturesque forests and countryside before riders cross the start-finish line in front of the arena’s raucous grandstand. Punchy climbs are followed by fast, tricky descents and there’s little let-up for the riders. Spectators have a number of track-side grandstands to choose from, either on the main straight or in the forest sections.
