For the penultimate round of the 2025 season, the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series will once again be heading to Lake Placid Olympic Region, New York, USA. The upstate New York location made its WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series debut in 2024 when the Endurance athletes took to a brand-new cross-country course built into the hills of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics venue. For 2025, the event will feature men’s and women’s UCI World Cup races in both endurance and gravity formats.

The Cross-country Short Track (XCC) and Cross-country Olympic (XCO) events head back to Mt Van. Hoevenberg, while the Downhill (DHI) competition will be held at the iconic Whiteface Mountain, in the majestic Adirondack Mountains. Combining stunning scenery with high-octane riding, Whiteface has all the makings of a truly unforgettable UCI World Cup venue.

What are the courses like?

The Cross-country course was freshly built for the 2024 WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series and pitted riders against a stern test packed full of features like rock gardens, a dual slalom course and a section designed to mimic the venues Olympic bobsled run.

For 2025, local managers and trail builders will be turning their attention to crafting a downhill course worthy of the worlds best riders. And if their Cross-country creation was anything to go by, athletes and fans are in for a treat.
